More Electricity

I already talked about what a bad ass I though Nikola Tesla was and when lurking the interweb I found a Drunk History video about him.

To continue with the blog shrine: Click on this to watch the video.  I also apologize now for taking up the next 30 minutes of your life because I know if you watch one drunk history you will watch them all.

Oh Yeah

If you have been living under a rock, then you may have missed that there is big health spending drama going on.  You can read more about federal funding being taken away from planned parenthood and other similar organizations here, to see more posters like the one below you can click here

I cannot even believe that things like this are still up for debate in any country that claims to have equal rights.

Tupperware

Germans have this thing for leaving food out.  I am basing this of very limited research but either way I am comfortable making the claim that Germans just do not get tupperware.  Even something in a cream sauce. Out for at least 3 days.

The amount of time you have to eat or clean up is also very confusing.  How good is a curry that has been out for 4 nights, no cover and no refrigeration?

Even more painful is when I am hungry and the food is only just left out so I would consider eating it, but of course you do not, because the roommate made it and may want to eat it.  1 night, 2 nights, 3 nights, and the same leftovers are there on the stove and now you never got to enjoy it and quite frankly the food now scares you.

  • Side Note: Spell check does know how to spell Tupperware, but still doesn't know facebook is one word.

Just What I Needed

My.Parents.Rock.
I sent them an email looking for support and though it makes me miss them even more they always know just what to say,

Rumi, the Sufi poet, wrote about opening yourself to experience in a piece called the guest house "This being human is a guest house, every morning a new arrival,  A joy, a depression, a meanness  Some momentary awareness comes, As an unexpected visitor,  Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they're a crowd of sorrows, Who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture.  Still, treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, Meet them at the door laughing, And invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes, Because each as been sent, As a guide from beyond." So, my dear, relax, enjoy your travails and joys. You are having an experience which will allow you growth.

Night Terrors

While reading a book recently I discovered you can get creepy things when you buy second hand clothes.  This was a shock and quite a tragedy for someone who not only buys mostly second hand, but more so, someone who hates to do laundry.

The mentioned author got crabs from said experience, so naturally since reading I have been conjuring up images of crabs throughout the day.  This has become detrimental to my reputation as a sane person.  The lack of sleep and hallucinations caused a blood curdling scream when I thought I saw crabs on the subway seats.  Supposedly there were none.

Kinda like this but scarier, with fangs, itching powder infused claws, and sans chef hats.

On the bright side, I wrote a haiku today.  Enjoy.

after January before March

I successfully went on a hiatus for the whole of January.  This can be owed to the fact that January is the most miserable month in the whole entire year (sorry January Birthdays).

Back to life, well sort of.
I sit and stare at my To Do list.  That is really as far as it goes, I don't think I have the heart to do something so I can check it off.

Clean my room?  Eh, I would rather not.

Obviously the solution is to make my To Do's more achievable.  If the list said: Listen to music or Stare at your ex-boyfriends facebook I would be golden.
