Since When?

I have this new out of control thing for chocolate.  At which point you're like,

"Yeah big deal loser, every lonely girl loves chocolate".

This is totally out of the blue though.  I never used to eat chocolate, much less milk chocolate.  I move to Germany and its BAM all the time, I need it.  As a result I have decided that when lent approaches I will give it up for lent.  Not that I am Catholic nor in general do I know what the deal with lent is, I just figure it may help in the weaning process.

I once had a successful lent going without french fries, I had a serious addiction to the Ronald's fries.  Since the one win I have always tried to reign in my sailors mouth, but of course, shit's weak and it never worked out.  Plus cussing is way fun and only makes me appear to have a very choosy vocabulary. Whereas chocolate just makes you big and look extra pathetic if someone walks in on you cramming your face.

None of this was prompted by the question of the weekend.  I saw a guy friend I have not seen in 3 years and he asked,

Do you think you have gained or lost weight since I've seen you?

Ummm, I don't know, I don't have a scale.

P.S that conversation was in broken Hungarian and very awkward because it just stopped there....

Day 13

Favorite band? I think there are many and depending on the day I can get dirty (High School Musical soundtrack) or actually listen to music other people consider music. Ratatat is always welcome.

Best Translation

I am spending Christmas in Hungary with my host family from when I was 18.  As someone who is currently abroad trying to speak German and now attempting to recall Hungarian while here for break I totally understand,

Speaking another language is really really difficult.

That being said, my little host sister, who is learning English asked me about Pink's "Raise Your Glass" song.

What does raise your glass mean?

You know.... like when I say cheers (said in Hungarian) and then you cheers, its the movement you know?

Blink blink

Well ok I lift my glass and like nod my head and say cheers, that is raising your glass.

Oh ok, so like (movement movement)?

Yeah, and so you know Pink is cheer(z?)ing people, because they are strange.

I understand!  I thought she was talking about glasses, like on your face.

Then we both glass(z?)ed each other.  I love learning.

Day 12

Something I love,

is when guys remember to put the toilet seat down.  Even better in Germany guys don't even put it up in the first place.  I asked a German guy friend about this and he said its because they (German men) are not insecure about their masculinity and therefore have no problem taking a seat.  "It's being cultured".

Either way, as long as I don't fall in I'm happy.

Woah there!

In the spirit of my last post I would like to say that I hate slow internet.  As an avid anti socialite I need the internet to work at a brisk pace so I may watch seasons of television shows in a days time, or in the off chance I decide to download some readings for school. grrrr

Day 11

A picture of something you hate.....
I hate hate hate limp handshakes, to the point that if someone gives me a limp handshake it causes instant dislike to flair up inside me.  I mean of course I don't want to have my fingers squeezed off, but at least return the shake.  Seriously.

Day 10

The person I do the most ****** up (out of control, ridiculous, obscene) things with.

This proved to be difficult, because it seems my friends and I have a trend of being totally hilarious (in our opinion primarily) and choosing to make terrible though entertaining decisions together.  That is why I chose a top 3 contenders.

"I sort of just want to lay down and eat chocolate pudding with my face." - Krisztina

"I'm not sure if that's an accent or just a really annoying way of speaking." - Venla

"But... her name is jenna and well, that's just dumb." - Paige
Its not really surprising that two of them are located in Europe, what can I say it just brings out the crazy in people.  Plus that photo with Paige is right after I stepped on a piece of wood that gouged her leg, she's such a forgiving friend :)
